Are your calendars aligned with my school district?
To the best of our ability, we work to align our calendar across 6 school districts, including Snoqualmie, Mercer Island, North Bend & Issaquah, while also prioritizing consistency across our organization and providing time for important professional development for our staff.
What are Family Connection Days?
This is the opportunity for families to meet teaching teams one-on-one to discuss the upcoming school year. The connection days are not mandatory but can be very helpful for new families to a site or Montessori Forest School specifically. The specific times will be set up with families directly from the teaching teams. Family Connection days may be offered on site or scheduled at your home.
Are Orientations and Family Connection Days mandatory?
No, but highly encouraged. The specific time for each location will be our next project based on teacher availability, family services teams, as well as coordinating with our teacher training that week.
What if we are going to miss our first day of school?
Please let our preschool and kindergarten, or infants & toddlers program know - via info@montessoriforestschool.org - what day your student will start so that we can communicate that to the teaching team.
Who do we contact if we are going to miss other days of school?
Please alert your child’s teacher to any planned absences. You will receive their information during orientation.
What are All Staff PD days?
Montessori Forest School is invested in the growth of our teaching staff through professional development opportunities. Each month, we host an opportunity for our staff to come together to dive into important topics in early education, anti-bias curriculum, environmental studies, and more. We also use this time to problem solve and continually improve our practice. We intentionally schedule these events so that families can take advantage of long weekends and try to create a balance between Tuesday/Thursday and Monday/Wednesday/Friday closures.
What will you do if there are snow days?
Montessori Forest School has one extra day built in (June 21) in the event that there are more than 5 snow closure days in a school year (September-June).
Why is June, July, August September 2020 TBD?
Montessori Forest School is a year-round school (September-September). During the summer months (June-August), normal school continues. For your planning, consider the normal school district calendar for no-school-days. Check out our SUMMER CAMPS schedule!
